The Chinese Kung Fu Academy is a member of the AKWF:
Essentially, the AKWF: is the Kung Fu, Tai Chi and Wushu Division of the MAIA (Martial Arts Industry Association) and is the peak industry body dedicated to governing best practices for all Chinese Martial Arts including our own. The AKWF is managed at both State and National Levels. AKWF Queensland aims to:
- To improve and advance all aspects of Kung Fu, Tai Chi and Wushu in Queensland.
- Manage Accreditation of Instructors in Queensland.
- Organise and oversee all sanctioned Competitions in Queensland.
- Manage the development of Judges and Officials in Queensland.
- Oversee Risk Management practises amongst member schools in Queensland.
- Promote best practises amongst member schools.
Our CKFA instructors are required to become accredited through the AKWF accreditation process once they have been training for 5 years. They will learn about the latest skill for coaching athletes plus will be required to obtain First Aid Certification and a Blue Card.
By being a member of the AKWF enables us to operate under best practises within our art which will be of benefit to all members. It will also enable us to strive toward competing at State, National and Olympic Games in the future.
Being a member of the AKWF also provides security for new students wishing to join our schools by knowing that our school is operating under a division of the Australian Institute Of Sport. More information about the AKWF is available at www.akwf.com
