Administration & Fees

Forms:

All members of the Chinese Kung Fu Academy are subject to certain membership conditions to protect the rights and safety of the students. As it is important for every member to understand his or her rights and obligations, the following overview should be read carefully and in conjunction with the forms which are available to all students who join the CKFA.

1. The ‘Martial Arts Contract’:

This document makes reference to payment of club fees, medical conditions, consumer rights, waivers and indemnities, risks associated with practising Martial Arts, agreement to abide by the Academy’s rules, and some other important issues. Essentially this means you claim that you are medically cleared to practise a martial art and that you understand that martial arts are a DANGEROUS ACTIVITY.

2. The ‘Application Form’:

This form contains the member’s details and emergency contacts, a ‘Health Declaration’. the member’s martial arts history, a declaration of understanding of terms, and guardian’s consents for all persons under 18 years.

It is important that all the information provided by the student on these documents are current, correct, complete, readable and unambiguous. If any details have changed, they should be updated as soon as possible. Remember that the information on these forms may have to be used when incidents occur, your safety can therefore depend on them.

Students who have any questions relating to these documents can approach one of the instructors for more detailed explanations and additional information.

All persons details you provide will be always treated as strictly confidential.

Club Fees:

Training Fees:

Classes are paid for on a class-by-class basis at your local branch and have to be paid before any training can commence. Discounts are available for advance payments of one month or more and for online payments.

Concessions

A reduced training Fee Structure may be available at CKFA Branches for students under 18 years of age, a student still studying, a person on a pension or a person over the age of 55.

Grading Fees:

These fees are charged as a one off payment every time a student attends a grading test to be able to progress to the next level.
Grading fees are due at least a week before each grading date, and should be handed in together with the required grading forms or may be completed and paid online.

Event Fees:

Event fees may be charged for attending seminars and competitions and social evenings, and on other occasions where the Chinese Kung Fu Academy makes special arrangements in the best interest of its members.

Payment and Prices:

All fees must be paid on demand or by their due dates. Please approach one of the instructors for the most recent rates or check on the website.

Young Mantis:

This special group within our school can be joined by all children between the ages of 7 and 12 years of age. Here they can enjoy the benefits of a course that Grandmaster Henry Sue has especially designed to help children develop not only their body, but also their character. Experienced instructors, with Blue Cards pay particular attention to improvement of self confidence, self awareness, self discipline, self control and self defence. Parents are encouraged to remain in the hall during class time to support their child in their pursuit of this art.

Uniforms and Equipment:

Club T-shirts, pants, sashes, jackets, and jumpers are available at attractive rates as they are ordered by the Chinese Kung Fu Academy in bulk quantities. Discounts may be offered for purchase of complete uniform packages. training gloves or focus mitts, and different types of weaponry, can also be purchased. Any item that is temporarily unavailable can be ordered in.
